Metastasis miR-10b Northern Blot Assay KitmiR-10b has been shown to be highly expressed in metastatic breast cancer cells and positively regulates cell migration and invasion. Whereas miR-10b is downregulated in most breast cancers in comparison with normal breast tissue, this miRNA is over-expressed in about 50% of metastatic breast cancers. Expression of miR-10b is induced by Twist, a metastatsis promoting transcription factor, and miR-10b proceeds to inhibit translation of the messenger RNA encoding homeobox D10, which targets a well-characterized pro-metastatic gene, RHOC. The level of miR-10b expression in primary breast carcinomas correlates with clinical progression. A. Benefits: MiRNA Northern blot assay kits offer the following benefits:
B. Principle of the technology RNA samples are separated through gel electrophoresis and transferred onto a membrane. Expression of a specific miRNA is detected with a biotin-labeled probe.
