Obesity has reached epidemic proportions in many countries around the world and 30% of US adults are obese. Obesity increases the risk for different types of diseases, such as the metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. The mechanisms for increased risk of diseases in obesity are still unclear. Investigation of these mechanisms is mainly dependent on the discovery and application of biomarkers to indicate the physiological or disease process in diagnostic and/or prognostic utility. A large number of potential biomarkers that occur in obesity have been identified, such as adiponectin and leptin. Signosis human adiponectin and leptin ELISA kits provide a cost-effective approach for such studies. Other obesity biomarker assays such as resistin, TNFa, IGF-1, IL-6 are coming soon.

P450 proteins play important roles in the metabolism of xenobiotic chemicals. The human genome encodes fifty-seven P450 proteins and some of them are highly regulated. Profiling of P450 gene expression could be hardly differentiated due to the sequence similarity of these genes. Signosis’ proprietary technology provides not only high discriminative power but also quantitative capability in analyzing P450 gene expression.
