miRNA Direct Hybridization Plate Array I MA-1001


miRNAs are known to involve in multiple biological functions and abnormal expression is associated to human diseases such as cancers. They represent a promising new class of cancer biomarkers. A number of multiplex methods such as microarray or microbeads assays are commonly used for profiling the expression of multiple miRNAs simultaneously. However these methods need the conversion of the miRNA into a cDNA probe during analysis. Signosis has developed a simple miRNA direct hybridization plate array method, in which total RNA does not need any pre-treatment before hybridization. It is as simple as direct hybridization and detection. More importantly, total 48 miRNAs can be quantitatively analyzed and compared simultaneously with the sample assay.

Apoptosis-Associated miRNA Plate Array MA-1002


Apoptosis involves a series of biochemical events leading to a characteristic cell morphology and death, including changes to the cell membrane, cell shrinkage, nuclear fragmentation, chromatin condensation, and chromosomal DNA fragmentation. It plays important roles in removing unwanted cells during development and homeostasis. Excessive apoptosis causes hypotrophy, such as in ischemic damage, whereas an insufficient amount results in uncontrolled cell proliferation, such as cancer. MicroRNAs are newly discovered small non-coding RNA molecules that regulate up to 30% of mammalian gene expression. Numerous miRNAs have been revealed to have an influence on the regulation of apoptotic cell signaling such as overexpression of miR-145, miR-216, miR-182, and miR-96 miRNA to decrease caspase-3 activation. Signosis developed a miRNA array for targeting 47 miRNAs that have been shown in literature to be involved in apoptosis. Profiling the expression of these miRNAs will facilitate in uncovering the regulation of miRNA in apoptosis.

Stem Cell-Associated miRNA Plate Array MA-1003


Stem cells can differentiate into all of the specialized embryonic tissues during embryo development. In adult organisms, stem cells and progenitor cells act as a repair system for the body, replenishing specialized cells, in order to maintain the normal turnover of regenerative organs, such as blood, skin or intestinal tissues. Recent studies suggest that maintenance and differentiation of stem cells are regulated by microRNAs (miRNA). MiRNAs are small single-stranded RNA molecules (~20nt long), playing an important role in gene regulation and cell differentiation. MiRNAs are found to be differentially expressed in stem cells, such as brain-specific miR-124a and miR-9 molecules during neural lineage differentiation. In addition, miRNAs are also reported to regulate cancer stem cells. Signosis has developed a miRNA array specifically to target 47 miRNAs that are shown in literature to be associated with stem cell differentiation and maintenance. The array can be used for human, mouse and rat samples. Profiling the expression of these miRNAs will help to reveal the functions of miRNAs in stem cells.
