The BMP/ALK-1 overexpression Luciferase Reporter HEK293 Stable Cell Line is a specialized cellular model designed for sensitive, quantitative measurement of BMP pathway activation. It is built on a SMAD1/5/8‑responsive luciferase reporter system, in which multiple SMAD‑binding response elements are positioned upstream of a minimal promoter driving firefly luciferase expression. This configuration enables precise detection of BMP‑induced transcriptional activity. To further enhance pathway specificity, the cells are engineered to overexpress human activin A receptor‑like kinase 1 (ALK‑1, ACVRL1; NM_000020.2), a key type I receptor in the TGF‑β/BMP signaling family.
This makes ALK‑1/BMP reporter cell lines valuable tools for drug discovery, ligand screening, pathway analysis, and therapeutic development targeting BMP‑dependent vascular signaling.
