IA-2 (insulinoma-associated protein 2) is a transmembrane protein localized to the secretory granules of pancreatic beta cells and is a major autoantigen in type 1 diabetes. Autoantibodies against IA-2 (IA-2A) appear early during autoimmune beta-cell destruction and are strongly associated with disease progression. Signosis has developed a mouse Anti-IA-2A ELISA kit to enable sensitive and specific detection of IA-2 autoantibodies in mouse serum or plasma, supporting studies of type 1 diabetes onset, immune tolerance breakdown, and therapeutic intervention.
