U-937 is a human histiocytic lymphoma-derived monocyte cell line widely used as a model for monocyte and macrophage biology. These suspension cells can be differentiated into macrophage-like cells using chemical inducers, making them ideal for studying immune signaling, inflammation, phagocytosis, and cytokine production. U-937 cells are also commonly employed in drug screening, functional genomics, and mechanistic studies related to hematologic malignancies and immune responses.
The cells should be handled at laboratory containment level 1.
