WEHI-3 is a murine myelomonocytic leukemia cell line widely used as a model for hematopoietic malignancies and immune cell research. These suspension cells are IL-3 dependent for growth and display characteristics of myelomonocytic precursors, making them suitable for studying cytokine signaling, leukemia biology, differentiation, and proliferation pathways. WEHI-3 cells are commonly employed in drug screening, mechanistic studies, and functional genomics related to leukemia and other hematologic disorders.
The cells should be handled at laboratory containment level 1.
