The Translational Control Multiplex RNA-Protein Screening Plate enables simultaneous detection of RNA-binding activity toward key RNA models involved in controlling whether an mRNA is translated into protein. This panel includes well-studied translational control targets, including IRE-containing iron-regulated mRNA models, histone mRNA models, TOP mRNA models, and HCV IRES viral RNA models, allowing researchers to profile four RNA model targets in one assay instead of running multiple individual RNA EMSA experiments.

These RNA models are recognized by important translational regulatory proteins and complexes such as IRP1, IRP2, SLBP, La/SSB, eIF3, and ribosomal subunits. These interactions play central roles in iron metabolism, histone mRNA regulation, ribosomal protein translation, viral RNA translation, ribosome recruitment, and global control of protein expression.

By profiling multiple translational control RNA models in parallel, this plate provides a practical screening tool for comparing RNA-protein binding activity between treated and untreated cells, normal and disease samples, or different cell types. The assay is especially useful for researchers studying translation regulation, metabolism, cell growth, viral RNA biology, stress response, and post-transcriptional gene control.
