Paired box gene 2 (Pax2) is a transcription factor that is essential for normal embryonic development, especially in the nervous system, kidneys, and eyes. The Pax2 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of Pax2. The vector contains a Pax2 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report Pax2 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
