Paired box gene 6 (Pax6) is a transcription factor that plays a key role in the development of various tissues, particularly in the eye, central nervous system, and pancreas. The Pax6 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of Pax6. The vector contains a Pax6 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report Pax6 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
