AP-1 is a dimeric transcription factor composed of proteins from multiple protein families and plays a central role in regulating a variety of cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, immune responses, and inflammation. The AP-1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of AP-1. The vector contains an AP-1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report AP-1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
