Neurofibromin (NF-1) is a tumor suppressor protein that is a critical regulator of the RAS signaling pathway, which controls cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation. The NF-1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of NF-1. The vector contains an NF-1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report NF-1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
