Pituitary-specific positive transcription factor 1 (Pit1) is a member of the POU domain transcription factor family and plays a central role in the development and function of the pituitary gland. The Pit1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of Pit1. The vector contains a Pit1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report Pit1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
