Serum response factor (SRF) is a transcription factor that regulates genes involved in cell growth, differentiation, cytoskeletal organization, and smooth muscle contraction. The SRF luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of SRF. The vector contains an SRF DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report SRF activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
