Sex-determining region Y protein (SRY) is a DNA-binding protein that leads to the activation of genes involved in male sexual development. The SRY luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of SRY. The vector contains a SRY DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report SRY activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
