The thyroid hormone receptor (TR) is a nuclear receptor that regulates gene expression for various physiological processes, including metabolism, growth, development, and differentiation. The TR luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of this receptor. The vector contains a TR DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report TR activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
