Wilms Tumor 1 suppressor protein 1 (WT1) is a transcription factor that is associated with kidney cancer and is involved in various processes such as kidney development, gonadogenesis, and hematopoiesis. The WT1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of WT1. The vector contains a WT1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report WT1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription. It also contains the Renilla Luciferase under the CMV promoter for data normalization.
