Chicken ovalbumin upstream promoter-transcription factor (COUP-TF) is a family of nuclear receptors that plays an essential role in the regulation of developmental processes, cell differentiation, metabolism, and neurogenesis. The COUP-TF luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of COUP-TF. The vector contains a COUP-TF DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report COUP-TF activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
