Gli1 is a transcription factor that is a downstream effector of the Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway, which plays a crucial role in development, stem cell maintenance, and tissue homeostasis. The Gli1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of Gli1. The vector contains a Gli1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report Gli1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
