Myocyte enhancer factor 3 (MEF3) is a member of the MEF family of transcription factors and is involved in various cellular processes, including muscle differentiation, development, and gene expression regulation. The MEF3 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of MEF3. The vector contains a MEF3 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report MEF3 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
