Musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma transcription factor (MAF) is a member of the basic leucine zipper family of transcription factors and plays an important role in cell differentiation, development, immune responses, and oncogenesis. The MAF luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of MAF. The vector contains a MAF DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report MAF activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
