Octamer-binding transcription factor 4 (OCT4) is a transcription factor that plays a central role in the maintenance of pluripotency in stem cells, especially in embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells. The OCT4 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of OCT4. The vector contains an OCT4 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report OCT4 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.

The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
