cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB) is a transcription factor involved in numerous cellular processes such as gene expression, cell survival, differentiation, and memory formation. The CREB luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of CREB. The vector contains a CREB DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report CREB activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
