E2F is a family of transcription factors that plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, DNA replication, and cellular response to growth signals. The E2F luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of E2F. The vector contains an E2F DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report E2F activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
