Early growth response (EGR) is a transcription factor that regulates gene expression in response to a variety of extracellular signals, particularly those related to cellular stress, growth factors, and differentiation. The EGR luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of EGR. The vector contains an EGR DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report EGR activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.

The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
