SRY-box transcription factor 5 (SOX5) is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in regulating a wide range of developmental processes, including cell fate determination, differentiation, proliferation, and morphogenesis. The SOX5 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of SOX5. The vector contains a SOX5 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report SOX5 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
