HES1, or Hairy and enhancer of split 1,  is a gene that codes for a protein acting as a transcriptional repressor. The HES1 Promoter luciferase reporter vector is designed for studying the regulation of HES1. The vector contains the HES1 promoter region upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report activity for HES1 activity.
