HMOX1, or heme oxygenase-1, is an enzyme that breaks down heme and plays a protective role against oxidative stress and inflammation. The HMOX1 Promoter luciferase reporter vector is designed for studying the regulation of HMOX1. The vector contains the HMOX1 promoter region upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report activity for HMOX1 activity.
