PAI-1, or plasminogen activator inhibitor-1, is a protein that regulates blood clotting by inhibiting the breakdown of blood clots (fibrinolysis). The PAI-1 Promoter luciferase reporter vector is designed for studying the regulation of PAI-1. The vector contains the PAI-1 promoter region upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report activity for PAI-1 activity.
