Octamer-binding transcription factor 1 (Oct-1) is a member of the POU-domain family of transcription factors and plays an important role in regulating gene expression in a variety of cellular processes, including cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, immune response, and development. The Oct-1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of Oct-1. The vector contains an Oct-1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report Oct-1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
