Prospero homeobox 1 (Prox1) is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including embryonic development, lymphangiogenesis, neurogenesis, and cardiogenesis. The Prox1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of Prox1. The vector contains a Prox1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report Prox1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
