Purine-rich element binding protein 1 (Pur-1) is a transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes important for cellular growth, differentiation, immune responses, and neuronal development. The Pur-1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of Pur-1. The vector contains a Pur-1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report Pur-1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
