The thyroid hormone receptor (TR) is a nuclear receptor that regulates gene expression for various physiological processes, including metabolism, growth, development, and differentiation. The TR luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of this receptor. The vector contains a TR DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report TR activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
