The Signosis AUF1 RNA EMSA Kit provides a complete, non-radioactive system for detecting and characterizing AUF1–RNA interactions using biotin-labeled RNA probes and native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
AUF1 (AU-rich element RNA-binding protein 1), also known as hnRNP D, is a critical post-transcriptional regulator that binds AU-rich elements (AREs) typically found in the 3′ untranslated regions (3′-UTRs) of labile mRNAs such as those encoding cytokines, proto-oncogenes, and cell cycle regulators. AUF1 is involved in targeting mRNAs for rapid decay and is a key player in regulating mRNA stability and turnover.
This kit uses a biotin-labeled ARE-containing RNA probe to visualize RNA–AUF1 complex formation. Upon binding, the AUF1–RNA complexes migrate more slowly than free probe on a native gel, allowing for easy detection by chemiluminescence.
