Biological function
CELF1 regulates alternative splicing, mRNA stability, and translation, especially in muscle, heart, and brain. It is implicated in myotonic dystrophy and cardiac pathologies.
 
Binding property
CELF1 prefers UG rich elements and UGU-containing motifs, often repeated within introns and 3′UTRs. Binding can modulate splicing and affect mRNA decay.
