Biological function
NOVA proteins are neuron-specific splicing factors that regulate alternative splicing patterns critical for synaptic function and neuronal identity.
Binding property
NOVA proteins have a high affinity for YCAY motifs (Y = C/U), often arranged in clusters in introns or UTRs. Position relative to exons determines whether binding enhances or represses splicing.
Assay notes
Probe contains multiple YCAY elements. This kit is excellent for profiling neuron-specific splicing regulatory activity.
