Fisher Scientific Utilizes Signosis' Stable Cell Lines for High-Throughput Screening Assay Kit

Fisher Scientific has leveraged Signosis' state-of-the-art product lines, including the NFkB Luciferase Reporter NIH 3T3 Stable Cell Line (For-Profit), Luciferase Stably Expressing MDA-MB-231 Cell Line, and Luciferase Stably Expressing HCT116 Cell Line (For-Profit), to develop a breakthrough product line, the Thermo Scientific Pierce Firefly One-Step Luc Glow Assay Kit. This kit is designed to measure firefly luciferase activity in mammalian cell culture using a single reagent-addition step, which makes it ideal for high-throughput screening (HTS) applications.

The kit offers several features that make it particularly suitable for luminometers without injectors and HTS applications. Its one-step, homogeneous protocol minimizes handling steps to support automation. Simply combine the supplied substrate solution and assay buffer to make a single working solution, and then add it to microplate wells containing the transfected, treated cells. The stable signal output (glow) of this system provides flexibility with regard to incubation time.

When used with Thermo Scientific Firefly Luc Plasmids, the kit provides a highly sensitive bioluminescent reporter assay system for the detection of promoter or pathway activity. With this innovative product, researchers can detect the activity of the gene of interest and screen potential drugs or compounds that may affect the activity of the gene, ultimately leading to a better understanding of various diseases and potential therapies.
