Lipocalin-2 (NGAL) ELISA Kit

Lipocalin-2 (NGAL) is an extracellular transport protein involved which plays an important role in immune response, inflammation, and cell communication. NGAL is mostly known for its use as a biomarker for acute kidney injury. In addition, NGAL levels are also elevated during inflammation and can be used as an indicator for a variety of conditions including sepsis, infection, and cancer. Signosis’ Mouse Lipocalin-2 (NGAL) ELISA kit provides an efficient solution for measuring NGAL levels in mouse samples and can help scientists better understand diseases involving NGAL upregulation.

Principle

The Lipocalin-2 ELISA kit utilizes the sandwich ELISA method to measure Lipocalin-2 levels in samples. The assay utilizes anti-mouse Lipocalin-2 antibodies for immobilization on the microtiter wells and biotinylated anti-mouse Lipocalin-2 antibodies along with streptavidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) for detection. A HRP substrate, TMB, is added to the reaction and produces a blue color in the presence of HRP. The color development is then stopped with the addition of Stop Solution and changes the color to yellow. The concentration of Lipocalin-2 is determined by measuring the absorbance of each sample spectrophotometrically at 450 nm.
