Lipocalin-2 (NGAL) ELISA Kit

Lipocalin-2 (NGAL) is a secreted transport protein that plays a key role in immune defense, inflammation, and intercellular signaling. It is widely recognized as a sensitive biomarker for acute kidney injury (AKI), with levels rising early in response to kidney damage. Beyond AKI, elevated NGAL levels are also associated with inflammatory conditions, sepsis, infection, and various cancers. Signosis' Mouse Lipocalin-2 (NGAL) ELISA Kit offers a reliable and efficient method for quantifying NGAL in mouse samples, supporting research in diseases where NGAL expression is dysregulated.

Principle

The Lipocalin-2 ELISA kit utilizes the sandwich ELISA method to measure Lipocalin-2 levels in samples. The assay utilizes anti-mouse Lipocalin-2 antibodies for immobilization on the microtiter wells and biotinylated anti-mouse Lipocalin-2 antibodies along with streptavidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) for detection. A HRP substrate, TMB, is added to the reaction and produces a blue color in the presence of HRP. The color development is then stopped with the addition of Stop Solution and changes the color to yellow. The concentration of Lipocalin-2 is determined by measuring the absorbance of each sample spectrophotometrically at 450 nm.
