EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) is a protein that plays a crucial role in cell growth and division. Mutations in the EGFR gene can lead to abnormal activation of the receptor, contributing to the development and progression of certain cancers. The exon 19 (746-750) deletion removes amino acids (AA) in the AA sequence between positions 746 to 750. Mutations in this region are commonly found in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and are associated with increased sensitivity to certain targeted therapies.

Signosis provide EGFR del19 (746-750) expressing Ba/F3 cell line allowing researchers to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression. It also provides a platform for testing potential therapeutic interventions, such as drugs targeting the mutated EGFR, in a controlled laboratory setting.

This cell line was established by electroporation to transfect Ba/F3 cells a vector containing the EGFR del19 (746-750) gene with GFP and hygromycin resistance. Clones with resistance to hygroymcin were subsequently screened for GFP expression, with protein expression of the mutant EGFR tested via western blot. The clone with the highest expression were selected and expanded to produce this stable cell line.
