Myocyte enhancer factor 1 (MEF1) is part of the MyoD family of transcription factors and plays an important role in muscle differentiation and development, specifically in the regulation of genes involved in myogenesis. The MEF1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of MEF1. The vector contains an MEF1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report MEF1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
