The miR-17-92 cluster, containing miR-17, miR-18a, miR-19a, miR-20a, miR-19b-1 and miR-92a-1, is among the best-studied microRNA clusters. Over-expression of the miR-17-92 cluster is a key oncogenic event in various cancer types, which are involved in many oncogenic signaling pathways, PTEN, TGF? signaling, Notch and Sonic Hedgehog pathway.  Research work in recent years has revealed unexpected roles of miRNA-17-92 cluster due to its members have function in a wide variety of settings that include normal development, immune diseases, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases and aging.
